Interview with Sarah Garton for The School of Balance

In June I was contacted by Sarah Garton from The School of Balance in the UK to set up an interview to be a part of her blog post Pregnancy Special – Interview with Three Leading Specialists. I was very honored and excited to be asked to share my insights and talk about my passion. Life just can’t get better than this! Talking with her was like talking to a lifelong friend.

During this interview I spoke about men’s health prior to conception and the effects on their children’s health, women’s health prior to conception and during pregnancy, touched a bit on fertility, miscarriages, and a not often talked about cause of postpartum depression.

I also explained how the developing baby is impacted by their parents’ lifestyle choices and simple steps to take for those who feel there is room for improvement.

I find this time of our lives to be fascinating and I feel like I am witnessing a masterpiece coming together. There is still so much science is uncovering and it is starting to come to light. I just can’t get enough! I get goose bumps knowing that I am a part of this journey that is being pioneered. There are many questions around the subject of health and conception, health and pregnancy, and post natal health and there are more and more answers coming to light.

The majority of these answers are coming from the years of research focusing on those 9 months in the womb. You see the womb is a whole other world for the developing baby and that short time (feels longer for mothers) impact us for our entire life and not just ours but our own children and grandchildren.

The way I see it, true preventive health starts here with the next generation.

I hope you enjoy the interview!
